World of Greenland - Arctic Circle

In Sisimiut you will find many skiing possibilities - both alpine and cross-country skiing.
Cross-Country Skiing
The area surrounding the town offers great cross-country skiing facilities which are maintained by the ski center of the municipality. Furthermore, it is possible to explore the rough nature on your own in the land between Sisimiut and Kangerlussuaq.
Arctic Circle Race
Every year, Sisimiut is the host of the world's toughest skiing called "Arctic Circle Race", which is a three-day skiing where the participants cover a distance of 160km in spectacular, rough and unpredictable scenery. The race is the ultimate physical challenge, a great experience in nature and fellowship with skiers from all over the world. Arctic Circle Race has it all: drama, intensity and beauty. It is a race that few hope to win, and most just dream of finishing.
Ski Lift
The ski slope called "Solbakken" (the sunny hill) lies 6.5km outside the town in a very beautiful area with high hills. Here, you find a ski lift and good hills for alpine skiing and snowboard.
